New Parkton homeowners Amy and Dee were struggling to design an outdoor living space to accommodate their early morning outdoor coffee rituals with their dog, Maxine, and a need for access from the driveway to the entry door. They soon got in touch with F&M Contractors through a referral from another local landscape contractor.
Construction Challenges
While working with a clean slate for design, Amy and Dee also had a very concerning water issue that was uncovered after they removed an old deck. Water was leading right into the foundation of their new fixer-upper.
F&M Contractors were able to design a slightly elevated patio, graded away from the home with drainage swales surrounding the area, a seating wall to entertain and to help direct water away from the new patio.
Design Phase
The patio is composed of smooth BLU 60 slabs fromĀ Techo-Bloc. For contrast, we included a unique walkway inlay of Antika pavers leading from the driveway to the entry door.
The color blend is a unique mix of Champlain Grey, Chestnut Brown and Chocolate Brown. Other Techo-Bloc features include the sitting wall and porch, both composed of Architectural blocks and caps.
This wonderful outdoor living space is the perfect fit for the clients and their home.
